The Art of Glass

 We are a working studio with retail space that showcases completed art  glass projects.   Willing Hearts teaches hands-on techniques for creating stain glass art and other forms of art glass.   More than an art studio,  Willing Hearts is focused on unemployed low income, disabled and retired individuals.  These individuals learn the techniques for creating one of a kind glass art projects.  The proceeds of each sale goes to helping and individual in our Willing Hearts Empowerment Program. 

   We want to see people learn to put together beautiful glass art pieces while putting the "pieces of their lives back together".   The projects completed by participants in our Willing Hearts  Empowerment Program (WHEP), are for sale along with other items by our artisan partners.  Classes consist of basic instruction as well as advanced techniques.  All classes are offered at minimal cost to the general public to cover the costs of materials, tools, training materials and operating expenses.   

The Willing Hearts Empowerment Program (WHEP) is a non profit organization assisting low income, unemployed and retired individuals with opportunities to create art in exchange for support and financial assistance.  All individuals wishing to participate in the (WHEP) must complete an application process and comply with all requirements of the program.  The proceeds generated by the sale of art pieces creates a Benevolence Fund to assist those in need  in our community.  We want to help with the economic revitalization of the downtown Cumberland area by providing services not currently offered with a reasonable distance.
